2016 SCOTT Enduro Cup Sun Valley—Day 1 Recap & Results

Day 1, round three of the SCOTT Enduro Cup presented by Vittoria kicked off in beautiful Sun Valley, ID, today as 250 riders took to Sun Valley Resort singletrack for three stages.

Mason Bond, 23 of Grass Valley, CA, finished first in the men’s pro/open category. Bond (00:29:29.162), impressed by the scenery said: “The weather was perfect with no wind, the wildflowers were insane—made for an awesome day of racing.”

Competition is tight as Aaron Bradford, 31 of Auburn, WA, is knocking at the door at 29:31.177 and Jeffrey Brines, 31 of Jackson Hole, WY, stands in third at 30:07.862.

Lia Westermann, 17 of Salt Lake City, UT, has been a solid competitor at the SCOTT Enduro Cup this season, finishing fourth in the Moab, UT, race and fifth in Angel Fire, NM. Westermann currently stands in first overall in the women’s pro/open category (33:12.496). Joanna Petterson, 36 of Santa Cruz, CA, is close at 33:40.752. Porsha Murdock, 24 of Bend, OR, sits in third at 33:44.579. Can Westermann and Bond hold onto first place moving into tomorrow’s two backcountry stages?

7:00 a.m. – Pro/Open Men, Expert Men, Vet Expert Men 35+, Pro/Open Women, Vet 35+/Expert Women
8:00 a.m. – Amateur Men, Junior Boys, Amateur Women, Junior Girls
