2018 Junior Enduro Cup Athlete Information

Course & Race Day Info 

Location: Hartman Rocks Recreation Area – Gunnison, CO

  • 12 and under categories will be racing 4 stages with around 15 miles of total riding
  • 18 and under categories will be racing 6 stages with around 22 miles of total riding
  • Riders will be racing stages rated intermediate (blue) and technical (black)
  • For fans of the incredible Moab and Fruita-type terrain

Additional Info

Official practice day is Friday September 14. Keep in mind that crews will be out marking the course so use caution when riding.

Athlete Check-in/Registration

When: Friday, September 14
Time: 4-6:30pm
Where: IOOF Park – 124 E Virginia Ave, Downtown Gunnison
There will be a mandatory athlete meeting at 6:30pm. at IOOF Park to discuss course details, rules and to answer any questions you may have.
 
Registration Notes:
  • There will be no race-day registration on Saturday, September 15.
  • Riders can race up a division, if they would like. All category changes must take place at the rider’s meeting on Friday
  • Parents MUST attend registration/athlete meeting as minors cannot sign waivers.
  • If you must pick up your race plate on Saturday, please arrive an hour before your scheduled start time.
  • If you were unable to make the athlete meeting, check in with friends and check this page to see if there were any updates to the race day schedule.
  • Racers will start the first stage in bib order. Start lists will be uploaded after the rider meeting. 
  • Riders can mix and mingle after the first stage and during transfers but must stay within their division.
  • Riders must use the original holes on their plate and make sure the chip does NOT touch the stem or bars directly. 
  • Members of the media should reach out to edavis@dragonflimedia.com for more information on shooting the race.
  • Spectators are welcome and encouraged to join the event festivities. Spectators are reminded to exercise caution while moving around the venue during the race. 

 

Division Start Times

                8:30 a.m. – 13-14, 15-16 & 17-18 boys depart Hartman Rocks base area for Stage 1.

                8:40 a.m. – 13-14, 15-16 & 17-18 girls depart Hartman Rocks base area for Stage 1

                9:00 a.m. – 11-12 boys & girls depart Hartman Rocks base area for Stage 3.

                9:10 a.m. – 9-10 boys & girls shuttle in Crested Butte Devo van (departs from Hartman Rocks base area) for Stage 3

 

Post Race

  • Athlete lunch will be held at Hartman Rocks pavilion after all racing is finished.
  • Lunch will be provided free for all racers and volunteers
  • Lunch will be available for purchase for a small donation of $5 to benefit Crested Butte Devo.

Category Notes:

  • An athlete’s age group is determined by their age on race day (Sept. 15, 2018)
  • Categories are subject to merge if fewer than 4 riders register in a category
  • It is the rider’s responsibility to accurately assess which category they should select while registering
  • Riders can race up a division, if they would like. All category changes must take place at the rider’s meeting on Friday
  • If a racer notices their category designation is incorrect at race packet pick-up. It is the rider’s responsibility to notify the registration manager immediately before the race begins to correct the situation.

Prizes

  • Each junior category podium will receive custom age group awards
  • Sponsor product will be awarded to top riders

Junior “Send It” Award

$50 cash and a MTBHOME.COM jersey will be awarded for the fastest male and female stage time on a designated state. The stage for the “MTBHOME.COM Send It Award” will be announced at the athlete meeting.

Rules

All riders are responsible for knowledge of all rules and timing. For complete rules, click HERE. If you are not able to attend the rider’s meeting, prepare to come early and reach out to Enduro Cup staff at the start/finish area headquarters with any questions.

Lodging

Free BLM camping is available at Hartman Rocks but fall weekends are busy so plan to arrive early Friday afternoon to get a campsite.
